God has blessed our family more than we ever expected, and so much more than we deserve! He has given us 3 beautiful blond haired girls by birth and 2 more boys, and 1 more daughter through the blessing of adoption. So very, very blessed!

New Home

I am tired, but we are here.

I woke up shortly before 7. I read my Bible, checked my Facebook and got up to get a few things done in the quiet house. Before long the house was buzzing. My parents got there about 8:45 bringing breakfast. They brought us Christmas Bread & Eggie cake. It was so delicious! We started to load up probably about 9:30. Chad's buddy from work, Steve, came to pick up chickens, and helped Dad & Chad load the trailer & truck. Sometime after that David Barr & his girls came. David worked on mudding the drywall, and his girls kept our girls busy. About noon Steve, Tracy's boyfriend, showed up with his vehicle ready to load. Tracy had gotten out of work and was on her way.

The dog was spazzing out cuz, he knew something was going on, and he was afraid he was gonna be left. The ducks were oblivious and happy. The cat was skittish so we locked him in Grace's room, then about an hour before we left we gave him his calming medicine, and we got him into the cat carrier.

We finally got loaded up about 12 and after an hour of tying everything down we hit the road. In Leslie we stopped at Subway, and then Chad ran over to Dollar General and bought a tarp. The tarp had been in the wrong spot and it was tiny. Tracy ran back over and got an 8x10 it was almost big enough, but the bed was still hanging out a bit. We continued on. In Alma the sprinkles were starting, so we pulled over again and got a BIG tarp. Once we got it in place we were off again. About Mt. Pleasant the rain started in force. I was so thankful we had stopped to get the tarp.

Every time we stopped an I had to get back into the car I realized how stinky it was getting in there! The ducks were pooing as ducks do, and the cat had pooed in his carrier. It smelled like a stinky pet store!

We arrived to camp about 4:30. It was raining hard. We parked the truck and trailer under an awning. The fellow Directors & their wives had prepared a dinner of soup and baked potatoes for us and our family that had caravan-ed with us. We were hoping for a let up in the rain. The guys checked the radar and figured that the rain was gonna let up... on Tuesday afternoon. So we decided to push ahead and at least unload Chad's sisters vehicles so they could be on their way.

The guys got terribly wet. I was thankful to be one of the ones inside to receive boxes. They were able to unload in about 45 minuets. Our mattress was mostly dry, but our box springs were quite wet. So our mattress will be on the floor tonight. :)

I have gotten the kitchen about half way unpacked, the kids rooms are all set. We are TVless for he time being so I am sitting here listening to the big girls & Chad play a game. They are so silly!

It has been a day full of blessings. I am thankful that we were able to load in the good weather. I am thankful for our friends who came to help us. I am thankful for our family which helped us get everything here! I am thankful for our stuff staying mostly dry. I am thankful for our new friends giving us dinner. And on and on it goes.

Now I am thankful to go to bed. Goodnight all!
